How GMATICO Works

GMATICO is structured around the GMAT’s actual quant taxonomy: content domain, question context, Fundamental Skill, and sub-skill. The platform then uses that structure to connect Fundamentals, Question Bank practice, and future diagnostics.

STAGE 01 — TAXONOMY

Scorecard Codification

The GMATICO system uses the official GMAC layers as the cornerstones of the platform.

01 — Content Domain

Content Domain

Arithmetic
Arithmetic questions assess the application of arithmetic knowledge to solve problems.
Algebra
Algebra questions assess the application of algebraic knowledge to solve problems.

Being able to differentiate between the mathematical domains is the first step of improving your quant section

02 — Question Context

Question Context

Pure
Pure questions are presented in abstract mathematical form. In these questions, math itself is the language.
Real
Real questions are contextualised in real-world scenarios. In these questions, the key skill is translating the scenario into variables and relationships.

The question type is the fist tell on what skill is required and how the question stem is most acccurately translated

03 — Fundamental Skills

Fundamental Skills

Rates / Ratios / Percent Rates/Ratios/Percent
These questions involve calculating graduated rates, working with ratios, and performing basic percent problems.
Value / Order / Factors Value/Order/Factors
These questions involve absolute values, place values, computations with decimals, exponent properties, divisibility properties, ordering, and application of remainders.
Equal / Unequal / ALG Equal/Unequal/ALG
These questions involve algebraic manipulations, formula applications, linear equations and inequalities, measurement conversions, and systems of equalities and inequalities.
Counting / Sets / Stats Counting/Sets/Series/Prob/Stats
These questions involve combinatorial ideas, numerical estimations, sequences, set unions and intersections, probability, and basic statistics.

GMATICO maps each fundamental skill into one of 24 sub-skills which structurally improves the effectiveness of the analytics layer beneath

STAGE 02 — CURRICULUM + PRACTICE

GMATICO's System

Establish foundational understanding, then apply the learnings in the Question Bank.

04 — Curriculum

Curriculum

Fundamentals

The curriculum is built on top of the four official Fundamental Skills.

Each Fundamental Skill breaks into a set of sub-skills, which GMATICO treats as the actual building blocks of quant improvement.

Sub-skills
For each sub-skill, the Fundamentals section is written to teach the underlying conceptual tool as concisely as possible, while still covering the relevant techniques exhaustively.

The learning materials are mapped 1:1 to the official exam, and so, the curriculum focuses exclusively on what are must-know topics and heuristics needed to reason through any GMAT quant question.

05 — Question Drilling

Question Drilling

Three-layered progression
The drilling structure is being built to support a progression from guided practice toward exam-like conditions — a planned architecture, with the first practice surface live and the remaining surfaces to follow.

Once you have understood the boundaries of the quant section and the available tools to complete it, the Question Bank is where you apply them.

STAGE 03 — ANALYTICS LAYER

Feedback Loop

Your learning journey is tracked so we identify the material from Fundamentals that best address your recurring mistakes.

06 — Analytics Layer

Analytics Layer

Concept Mapping
Tagged practice keeps each question connected to the skill it is meant to test.
Confidence Tracker
As students work through questions, GMATICO is being structured to collect signals about which sub-skills are strong and which are weak.
Gap Identifier
Because questions are tagged to sub-skills, mistakes can eventually be mapped back to specific conceptual gaps — the architecture for honest diagnostics, with the analytics layer maturing alongside it.

As you start logging questions in Question Bank, we pick up on your strength and weaknesses so we can provide you with a report giving insights on what areas to revisit in the Fundamentals section and which areas you have locked down

THE OPERATING MODEL
LEARNING SURFACES

Fundamentals teach the underlying tools; the Question Bank applies them.

  • Drill

THE FOUR MOVES

How the surfaces operate together, in sequence.

  1. 01
    Classify
Every quant question starts inside the same layers the exam is built from.
  2. 02
    Teach
The Fundamentals teach the underlying skill before practice begins.
  3. 03
    Drill
Question Bank practice applies those skills through tagged questions.
  4. 04
    Diagnose
Mistakes can then point back to the conceptual gaps that produced them.
